It's time to go back to school - and by that I mean for all of us in the beer industry. For too long, we have collectively tried to create complex learning environments. Forcing people to learn everything in a subject is filled with complexity and angst. Some interested beer people may only want to learn certain aspects related to their jobs or their personal interest and yet, we fill a program with just about everything you could possibly want. On top of that, classes are set at specific times of the day in specific months, in specific cities.
Well, the new world of beer needs alternative ways of learning. The online learning platform has grown exponentially since 2019 and shows no signs of slowing down. So.... what did we do? At Prud'homme Beer Certification, we developed our remote classes. These online learning platforms also come with virtual tasting sessions where learners can ask just about any question pertaining to beer while learning the ins and outs of specific beer styles and brands. Next, we have developed The Beer School. These shorter, isolated sessions are focused on three things - Know It | Pour It | Pair It. Each of these subjects are split into 4 unique sessions and will be offered at 3 different times of day - 11am | 1pm | 3pm EST so that interested learners can participate on their own schedules. These 45 minute beer education sessions will focus on the following: Know It - this is all about the ingredients in beer - we will take a look at malt, hops, water & yeast and fermentation & aging in order to provide the key characteristics that each ingredient or process bring to beer in the end. On top of that, we will take a look at styles that feature each of these ingredients. Pour It - will focus on how to properly pour and serve beer. The purpose is to showcase best in class standards in the beer industry so that we can create the best beer experience for the consumer. We will also examine draught beer systems and provide insights on what needs to happen to ensure the best possible draught beer quality and pour. Pair It - these sessions will focus on the principles of beer & food pairing. We will discuss complement, contrast and cut as it applies to beer and food. Along the way, we will provide some key pairing suggestions. These sessions are all $20 per person and you can register for any one that interests you. In addition, we will provide a certificate of completion for anyone who registers for 8 sessions. These online, virtual sessions will be offered throughout the year so if you miss one, you can catch it later in the year. Prud'homme Beer Certification continues to be the leader in beer education and we hope you'll be able to join us as we explore unchartered areas. Cheers
